New Dynamite®17 Zyex® Tennis String from Ashaway Superior Power and Dynamic Response in a 17-gauge String

New Dynamite 17 tennis string is now available from Ashaway Racket Strings. Featuring a core of helically wound Zyex fibers, this durable string offers all the power and response of Ashaway's popular Dynamite WB tennis string, in a thinner, tournament-style gauge. Dynamite 17 is recommended for advanced amateur and professional players and for all styles of play. According to industry experts, Zyex is the closest stringing material to natural gut for dynamic stiffness and resilience. Dynamite 17's Zyex core offers enhanced feel, for superior playability, and is overbraided with high tenacity multifilament microfibers for superior wear and easy stringing. In addition, the string's Zyex fibers provide optimum durability and a resistance to moisture and temperature. "We are taking tennis strings to the next level with Dynamite 17," said Steven Crandall, Ashaway Racket String' VP of Manufacturing. "Ashaway first introduced players to Zyex tennis strings with our Dynamite WB. Now we've developed another premium tennis string with all of WB's power and tension-holding properties, and the added playability of a 17-gauge string." Zyex is made from a polyetheretherketone (PEEK) polymer, combining stiffness (for control), with very rapid rebound from impact (for power). Highly resistant to "creep" at the molecular level, Zyex holds tension better than most string materials. For this reason, recommended stringing tensions for Dynamite 17 is up to 60 lbs. This is 10–20% less tension than used with nylon strings. Dynamite 17 is available in single set packages of 38 feet (11.5 M) or reels of 360 feet (110 M), and comes in white for easy and visible logo inking.
