New Zyex® Racquetball String From Ashaway Features Optimum Power, Performance, And Durability PowerKill™ 17 Tournament-Gauge String Combines Playability with Wear Resistance
The new PowerKill™ 17 Zyex ® racquetball string, now available from Ashaway Racket Strings, offers players both power and durability, and is ideal for midsize and oversize racquets. Combining high performance and resistance to wear with a thin, tournament-gauge construction for improved feel, PowerKill 17 is an ideal choice for professional and amateur players who enjoy a powerful, all-court style of play.
PowerKill 17 blends optimal dynamic stiffness and resilience with maximum durability in a 17-gauge (1.25 mm) string. With a core of advanced Zyex fibers, Ashaway's new racquetball string offers excellent dynamic response. The Zyex fibers also lend exceptional load-bearing properties to the stringbed, for increased power, and resistance to notching for prolonged string life. The string's spiral braided outer jacket creates a good gripping surface for enhanced control on pinches, kills and ceiling shots.
"Our new PowerKill 17 is a great string for all players," said Steven Crandall, VP of Marketing for Ashaway Racket Strings. "This tournament-gauge string, that maintains the durability of a 16-gauge string, is catching the attention of the industry. Look for it in the racquets of some of our best players on tour this season."
Because of the excellent tension holding properties of the Zyex fibers, PowerKill 17 should be strung at a lower tension (10 - 20% less tension) than nylon strings. To avoid the stiffness associated with stringing at tensions normally required for nylon string, recommended stringing tension for PowerKill 17 is up to 50 lbs. However, with the various designs and sizes of racquets, ideal tension will depend on the player's racquet choice and style of play.
PowerKill 17 is available in extra-long 40 ft. (12 M) sets and 360 ft. (110 M) reels, and is packaged to accommodate oversized racquets.
