Ashaway and Jack Huzcek Team Up For Three More Years Top Racquetball Pro Wins with Ashaway's SuperKill® II String
Ashaway Racket Strings and Jack Huczek have signed a three-year extension to their string sponsorship agreement. Huczek, who won the 2002 US Pro Nationals, was ranked #4 for the 2002-2003 season by the International Racquetball Tour (IRT). Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Huczek and Ashaway have been paired up for six years, since the racquetball player was on the Junior circuit. "Ashaway supported me before I made a name for myself," Huczek said. "That means a lot to me."
"Jack is an exciting, dynamic player, and we have always been thrilled to have him on the Ashaway team," said Steven Crandall, Vice President of Marketing at Ashaway Racket Strings. "Jack is focused on reaching for number one, and all of us at Ashaway are behind him 100%."
Huczek has been playing with Ashaway's SuperKill® II 16-gauge racquetball string since 1997, and credits it with giving him the consistency he is looking for on the court. SuperKill II string is constructed of a nylon polymer monofilament core covered by an abrasion resistant wear layer.
The SuperKill family of high performance racquetball strings from Ashaway also includes SuperKill 17, a 17-gauge version of the string offering added playability, and SuperKill XL, a nylon multifilament string with a braided jacket for enhanced spin and ball placement. The strings in this line come in both 40 ft (12 M) sets and 360 ft (110 M) reels.
"I look for long-term relationships with sponsors, because, for me, it is about more than just the bottom line," explained Huczek. "I know the folks at Ashaway feel the same way. It is more of a team approach, a family. It is mutually beneficial. I have always been proud to play with Ashaway strings—one of the leading strings in the world—and I know they are proud of me, too."
